Hi,

I am based in Malmö Sweden and the front door of my apartment building can be opened by phone when someone is at the door and rings through a Bewator door code system.

Currently my wife's cell phone is connected to the system, meaning we can only hear it ring (and open the door) if the phone is in the house. (note this was meant as a high tech solution 15yrs ago to be able to open front door remotely even when not at home).

Through our owners association we have recently been given broadband, TV and landline (!) subscription for all tenants so I could easily hook up a normal house phone and use that as the doorbell from now on.

Being a B&O fanboy (kind of) I would like to have B&O telephone e.g. Beocom 4 then. Anything I should think off before going out on the internet and buying such phone?

Interesting case, if I were you - I would just go buy one right away - since the prices in DK for these phones can get real low. Examples:

https://www.dba.dk/bo-beocom-4-rimelig-ink/id-1070958053/

https://www.guloggratis.dk/telefoner/fastnettelefon/bo/annonce/48706210-beocom-4

https://www.guloggratis.dk/telefoner/fastnettelefon/bo/annonce/48791935-bo-bordtelefon

I'm sure most of the advertisers have nothing against sending it to Sweden.

The Beocom 6000 was also very popular in DK, and there's a lot for sale at guloggratis.dk and dba.dk

Good luck Big Smile

Hi Agenten,

Actually a good tip, I have used DBA before - just didn't thought of it right now. And why I am typing English is the Nordic forum is also a mystery :-)

I was just a bit caught up in the moment, and couldn't find one at blocket or tradera

Thanks Madskp,

The blue (?) wouldn't work for me, but I might take you on the offer to take it as a spare unit. I have found a set on DBA (there are many available) hope to get the in the next weeks.

One of my neighbors showed proudly GiGaset (philips?) telephone that he uses as doorphone now. He coloured the button #5 green (open door) and #0 red (hang, up - stop conversation)  :-)

I'll let you guys know how it goes when it is all set-up and working.

Great - yeah, you will have to show your neighbor a nice B&O solution to override his Philips - and please do it in a "Bucket - Keeping up appearances" kind of way:

Big Smile agenten :-)

Well, so far my neighbor has a working solution and I don't ... oops

Have received the Beocom 4 now, bought Swedish telefon plug and it's charging. Led is blinking red Erm.. and it has been charging for some hours now. When I pick up handset it shows 'information' and then goes blank. I might have faulty unit or am too impatient.

There is plenty more for ale in Denmark. Maybe a new battery will do? I am not that familiar with the Beocom 4.

I'll keep you posted on progress

mvh

Definitely worth a try.  I had a BeoCom 4 with similar symptoms and a new battery solved the problem.

Thanks Guy - will do that.

After some call with my provider (ComHem) I learned that the phone should be connected to the router directly and not to the telephone socket - to which i yesterday bought a Swedish plugg (telepropp) :-)

There is so much to learn Big Smile

So the phone is working, but will see if new battery make it more stable.

Now I only have to link the doorcode terminal to my phone and I am all set Lets have a Party !!! for the technical part. Will have to figure out a good placement option as the router now is where I don't want the phone to be.

See, a lot of fun for just 360DKK (incl shipping)
