Hello all

I have a BLI at home and it works well with my doorbird in Essential mode.

I see Khimo released a new video on YouTube about creating shortcuts on the apple device lets say my iPhone.

https://youtu.be/jn2jql_Z_uo

I am interested in this as with Hue i can talk into my watch and say “turn the living room lights off” or turn lights on at x %.

This works well but this video shows you can create shortcuts that are sent to BLI so i could potentially trigger turn TV on or off or kitchen join etc.

My question is will this work in Essential mode and does anyone have any experience of creating shortcuts to trigger BLI to make the NL devices do stuff?

I know BLI works with IFTTT but I don’t want to use that or Alexa i am happy in the IOS bubble.

Anyone got any experience for a little debate or some assistance?

Cheers

Speaking of IfTTT, did anyone else notice that only 3 of our custom applets will work now that IFTTT has started requiring a paid subscription for more than 3 applets?

Yes, Willie talked about it in one of the latest Beotalk podcasts.

@Seanie

I guess you are aware of this video as well:

Hi all!

We have recently released two "How to" documents that should help you understand how to control the BLI through shortcuts. You can fire Macros or send commands to resources, and this is possible on the BLI, both Essential and PRO.

This first one is more to the point and specifically about how to configure Shortcuts:

https://khimo.github.io/bli-guides/how-tos/howto-siri-shortcuts

The second one is more of an end-to-end example of how to configure a simple Macro/Scene, and trigger it with Siri Shortcuts:

https://khimo.github.io/bli-guides/how-tos/hey-siri-play-bbc-in-b-and-o

Let us know if you spot anything that you think is not clear enough!

You guys are great, thank you so much. I will try and create some this evening and see how confused I get.

Cannot wait to give it a go.

Cheers

Hello Khimo Team,

would it be possible to trigger a BLI macro through a third party home automation system in such way? And what would the syntax (with user credentials handover) look like?

The following attemts unfortunatily did not work:

neither: http://bli.local/a/exe/Downstairs/Livingroom/MACRO/TV/FIRE
             (method: POST; json)

nor:       http://user:password@bli.local/a/exe/Downstairs/Livingroom/BUTTON/TV/PRESS

I am asking because IFTTT will become a payed service an I want to use my home automation system to communicate with the BLI gateway inernally - without using external cloud services...

Thanks for a short response.

Best regards

Well with the support of the amazing team at Khimo.com i have configured a Siri shortcut to turn off the TV by saying Hay Siri turn off TV.

These guys are brilliant, must have spent two hours today assisting with getting this working, now i have one once I work out the commands per device I can create as many shortcuts as I want.

The shortcut for turn off TV is

http://BLI.local/a/exe/Main/Living%20Room/AV%20renderer/BeoVision%20Eclipse_30416288/Standby

The room and device names are case sensitive

If anyone has a list of commands per device is would be great as Next I would like to create:

Eclipse

Switch on TV

Switch on AppleTV

Switch on Netflix

TV increase volume to =60

Kitchen Essence

Join

Radio

M5

As above i think.

Anyone got a list of the potential commands for the URL?
