Hi,
I have recently bought a pair of Beovox 3800's. One speaker sounds great, one terrible. Looks like it needs a new woofer. Someone at one time has tried to glues the dust cover on with a load of Araldite.
I wonder if anyone could recommend an alternative replacement 12" driver? Or where I could get the original. (Long shot I know)
I live in the UK
I am also going to replace the capacitors in the crossovers, as these are pretty old now and it sounds a little woolly.
Looking forward to getting these speakers up and running. I am sure they will sound great.

The woofer is more difficult, as it was custom produced for B&O and unique to this model. Can't it be repaired?

Hi Mike, I have a pair of used Goodmans 12" woofers that came out of a 3800.
I bought them as spares about 10 years ago on ebay.
They haven't been used by me so I can't guarantee they work as I no longer have my 3800's.
They appear to be in good condition, the cones move freely, they are both a bit dusty.
One looks to be in very good condition but no longer has its felt spacer/gasket on the front or the foam spacer on the rear .
I only know these are missing as the second speaker has them but on this speaker dust cap has wandered and is off centre.
They look identical, both have the blue&black "Goodmans Loundspeaker Ltd made in England" label with serial number 91110475552.
If you're interested let me know. I think £20 for the pair and no more than £20 for p&p (they're heavy but should cost less) would be fair.

Hi Paul,
Do you still have these speakers? I'd like to buy them if you do.
Thank you,
David
