Hi,

I just got a Beosystem 6500 with a Beogram CD 5500, and a BEO4 remote. I already had a pair of Beolab 8000s. It's my first B&O system since my parents' Beocenter 7000, so I'm not quite sure how to set things up, which in the end may be my problem... As far as I can tell, the CD player cord goes to the CD port. So far so good. The two speakers each have a B&O powerlink cable that go to their respective powerlink 1 and 2 ports, with the appropriate selection of L/R on each speaker's selector switch (which I had previously had on the RCA line in position).

So that is how everything has come together.

The speakers are working beautifully when plugged into a chromecast Audio or my phone. No problem there, using the speakers' RCA connectors.

Other than being a bit confused still when using the BEO4 remote with the system, what worries me is a strange buzzing-type sound that is fairly loud, louder than the music playing (from the CD player or the radio). As well, the speakers sound far from the volume and quality I had when plugged into the chromecast audio via line-in.

Any thoughts on what the problem might be? With the buzzing sound coming from the speakers every time i press a remote button. And secondly, why the speakers may be sounding so flat, weak, compared to when using the chromecast setup.

Many thanks!!
