I have a Beoplay M5 and a M3. For what I understand is that is always necessary to make a manual join between the two speakers each time they are used.

I would like to make a permanent connection, so that only one speaker needs to be started to hear sound from both speakers. Does anyone know if that is possible?

Thanks in advance!

That will only be possible, if you use the Chromecast function....from e.g. a mobile device.

You will have to make a group of these two devices in the Google Home app, and then use this for casting.

The same goes for AirPlay (if you use iOS devices).

With the AP2 function you can choose both for airplaying in the list on the iPhone/iPad.

What is it that you want to play?

Thank you, that is indeed the way I am using both speakers now. From several ios-devices and home-domotica, my Apple tv with homekit receives a request using apple shortcuts to streaming radio to both speakers via Airplay2.

But this concept often fails. Only one or none of the speakers react on the request although they are within a short distance of the wifi-router, they do not play simultaneously, or the stream stops after a few minutes.

I suppose that people who have multiple Beoplays in the same room would like to use them more simultaneously rather then only one of them.

Imo it isn’t that difficult to join within the Bang & Olufsen app.....which of course depends on which source you intend to use.

I can’t think of another solution, unless you’d go for a more automated setup with the BeolinkGateway or alike.

There are some here who do this - you could also ask Miki to discuss this in the weekly podcast Beotalk.
