Can anyone offer advice? Really want an A9 for my new place. Seen a Mk1 used for 1k. Is this worth getting as it’s a much older model?
Welcome to the forum. The mk1 does not have built in Bluetooth, Airplay, multi room, and a few other bits, IIRC. It’s worth googling but I seem to remember the mk1 was heavily handicapped, having been released so long ago, compared to mk2 and later. I’ve seen plenty of mk2 for sale on eBay that haven’t sold so I imagine they wouldn’t cost much more then the price of the mk1 you cite.
For me personally, I would get a mk3 as the speakers were significantly updated. Good luck!
Currently: BeoLab 17, BeoLab 18, BeoSound Core, Beosound Level, Beosound A1 2nd Gen, BeoPlay S8 Connection Hub, Halo, Essence Remote
Previously: BeoSound 1 non-GVA
MK1: Airplay and DLNA and Spotify integrated! See user guide. Line-In (Aux) for any audio componet and USB for iOS Devices (including control via Beo 4).No Bluetooth but you yould use a Bluetooth dongle and connect it to the Line-In of the A9 1st gen. The A9 1st gen can be controlled via Beo 4 remote control:https://support.bang-olufsen.com/hc/en-us/articles/360041177352-How-do-I-operate-BeoPlay-A9-1st-Gen-with-my-Beo4-remote-control-
Thank you.
would you say it’s worth buying then?
Thanks for the info. I’ll keep looking for a mkII
