Hi everybody

I thought about using a Beogram 3000 (59xx) as a ‚standalone’ streaming source. Does anyone know about a solution using a Raspberry Pi or an Arduino? Are there other / simpler ways?

Inputs would be much appreciated.

Looking forward to lots of suggestions,

    Nietz.

Hi Nietz, I might be able to help.

But it depends, whether your BeoGram is equipped with an internal pre-amp.

Some of them have the GF4 pre-amp built in.

Does yours have the GF4?

Hi KolfMAKER,

If you know any (Airplay) broadcasting solution other than a dedicated computer or NL streaming via an NL speaker, I and I believe a lot of other members would be interested.

Beogram 3000 type 59xx (the tangential version) has no RIAA.
And GF4 doesn't fit.

My 59xx doesn't have an internal pre-amp.

Hi Dillen,

Thanks for commenting.

Is there no pre amp at all for the BeoGram 3000?

Also no optional one?

Can anybody explain me the reason/sense to stream from a recordplayer?

Or did I miss something?

I'd quite like to - my white '007' BG6500 looks a bit silly sat next to my BC9500, hence I'd quite like to have it on the other side of the room with no visible connection.

But what is the surplus of playing a record in that setup (if one is convinced a record has a surplus)? Why not streaming a FLAC of WAV file?

A bit of fun.  A bit quirky, especially given the provenance of my turntable.

But if you wish to discuss the value of vinyl then perhaps in a new thread.  I'm not really a vinyl fan - you can see 50% of my collection in the photo Stick out tongue

Not for type 59xx.

I think you're right: there is no obvious reason to do it unless you have a very extensive collection of record (and even there…)

I have an Airplay network all over the house and all y records are also stored digitally. But sometimes you just want to have the record spinning at sight and still distribute the sound to other rooms. Same goes for a reel to reel deck or a Beosound 9000.

Yep, it's the fun of cracking, the quality of warm sound and the nostalgia to have to turn / change every 20 minutes which gives you short breaks. And last and foremost: the haptic by choosing and changing the vinyl and touching the cover :-)
And beeing streemed over the whole house - it's magic!

It's the welcoming break every 20 minutes to change the vinyl, the fun of cracks and warm sound, the haptic by chaning the vinyl or touching the cover. And to stream it all over the house - it's just magic Big Smile
