Hello Folks. I am new to this forum, and am trying to repair a Beogram turntable. The problem right now is: with no record on and hitting the start button, the arm moves all the way in (never switching speed to 45) and then reverses and moves all of the way out. Also, when out the arm motor rotates slowly even when the stop button is pushed. A big help in trouble shooting would be able to know what the voltage readings shout be at all of the pins of the the various plugs on the main circuit boards. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!!
Hi,
Unless you have already done a full replacement of the original electrolytic capacitors I would not waste time trying to track down a voltage problem that you currently have. The Beogram 4002 has an analog control system so there will be a lot of voltages that come into play.I would recommend you replace the old electrolytic capacitors first (and tantalum capacitors if they test bad). Then start with the Beogram 4002 power supply checks.Once you are at that point you can start checking the electrical functions for the Beogram operation.Note that the electrical part of the Beogram 4002 is just part of the repair. There are a bunch of mechanical checks that will also need to be performed. Before adjusting any of the mechanical adjustments, run through all of the checks first. You might get lucky where the mechanics are still good.Make sure you get correct replacement belts and lamps for the Beogram from Martin (Dillen here on the forum).
