Hi All,

Over Christmas I decided to start using my old Beogram 3000 Type 5901 again.

It works fine except for an annoying humming noise which starts the moment the stylus touches the vinyl and increases even more if it touch any metal on the Beogram. I assume this is a ground loop issue. The Beogram is connected via the original DIN-cable to this new RIAA pre-amp I just bought (https://www.av-connection.dk/?PGr=12978) and from there via RCA to my Beosound 4.

I assume the DIN cable carries a ground into the RIAA and that should do the trick, but apparently it doesn't. My question is therefore: What other ground could be needed - should I try one directly to the Beosound 4, should I attach one to the RIAAs separate ground (which I assume is meant for the RCA input only) or?

As always, any help is much appreciated.

Regards,

Soren

Some RIAAs require the two ground connections (signal ground and chassis ground) to be connected outside of the RIAA.
