A few months ago I got a pair of Beolab 5000 amps (flatpanels) from Beoworld US member Gregg.

It was, so to say, completely ruined and it was a challenge for me if I could fix it.

This is how Gregg got it.

Now it's my turn to see what can be fixed!

Let's glue the broken parts together.

New acrylic covers made by my local supplier.

Time to join them together.

And this the result!

Thanks to member Gregg for the deal and ipaul for the repair!

Leslie -

Just incredible work! I'm so glad those damaged amps could be saved and united with a gorgeous pair of beovox 5000's. Inspires me to transfer the speakers and electronics from my damaged beovox 5000 speakers to the used but empty bases I recently acquired. Enjoy the vintage B&O sound.

I'm afraid I'm recovering from the BeoVirus. Sad

Haha, that reminds me of this scene from "Friends", although Leslie doesn't seem to use quite the same techniques as Joey! Stick out tongue

Leslie,

While I admittedly may not agree with all of your posts ... There is no denying your enthusiasm, your efforts, and quite frankly your success at resolving many member's issues. That energy ... right or wrong, I can respect.

Hi Leslie,

Really great work and this makes me believing that I can enjoy my Beolabs 5000 some more time.

Did you also refurbish the electronics? And from where did you get the grey, brand new looking  mainboard?

Regards

Hi "Stampfki" thank you and others for the compliments.

No, I did not refurbish the electronics neither I did the repair on it.

That's what my friend ipaul does, he's the expertYes - thumbs up

Not sure what you mean by mainboard, but if you're referring to the bottom housing as seen on one of my pictures it's still the original one that used to be damaged. It's just a matter of cleaning it. do some mechanical repairs. gluing parts together and voila, nothing special. The only thing that has been replaced is the acrylic cover. This cover has been made by my local supplier.

Agree with Jeff, An amazing piece of work, the determination and the "never give up" attitude does it.
