I have a Beomaster 5500 with Beogram 5500 CD player. I control everything through my beolink 1000. The original CD player worked fine until recently and I swapped in a different Beogram 5500 CD. I used the same 7 pin din cord into the new CD player. The CD player can be manually controlled, but the Beolink 1000 doesn't recognize it. When i hit the CD bottom, the Beomaster switches to CD input, but the CD player does not come on... When I swapped back to the original Beogram 5500 CD, the Beolink 1000 recognizes it and can turn it on. But not the replacement CD player. Any suggestions on how to try to fix this?

If your CD player has protective diodes on the datalink, I suggest you check them.
Replace both if one is shorted.
