Hi.

Thinking of changing the grill on my 7-1 to gloss black.

Has anyone done this, and can share any tips?

Thank you.

I didn't change the colour, but i did change the grill many years ago, because it had some dents. If you have a gloss black grill, just shove the old one to the right, if I'm not mistaken, and it will come right off.

Not gloss black, but if you want a cheap and very good looking option:

Re-use your old dented grill, using tights (pantyhose) Wink
40, 60 or 80 denier. Don't know what denier is? -> Ask your wife Big Smile

This is how I made my Beolab 7.1 match my Beolab 8000's:
(speakercloth is same grey/black-level as 8000's, but on photo with a filter, it looks a little different)

I had thought of this, but how do you stick the fabric to the grill? Or is the grill inside of the leg and you just poke the attachment hooks through?

Thank you.

Correct. I used one leg (without the foot part) and poked the locations where the attachment hooks are! Very easy and looks smooth/excellent.
