Hello,

Could someone give me the production date for:

6881

N°1680007

Serial  228xxxxx

and 

Serial  227xxxxx

SW3.2 is it the latest ?

The BeoLab 5’s were first introduced in 2003 in most locations.

The serial numbers of your BeoLab 5’s means they were built in 2009, but of course maybe actually sold the following year.

In terms of software version it depends on hardware build of the units

•    For units with serial number below 17772145 the latest version is 1.62A
•    For units from 17772145 to 21221146 the latest software version is 2.61A
•    For units like yours after serial number 21221146 the latest version is 3.2A

There was a version 3.3 but apparently it was not distributed for general update.

How do you determine the production date? I always thought the first 2 digits corresponded with a specific year, but I never figured out quite which digits belong to which year.

Starting with 17 in 2003

18 2004

19 2005 etc

seems not the case

What then is?
