Hi all
I have a problem with a Beolab 1 poweramp module.
When connected to Powerlink the unit switches on for a short and switches off after about 2 seconds with clear red and green light.
About 7 Volt comming in from a connected Beocenter 9500 at PIN 4 of the Powerlink plug, tested a full Powerlink cable and a older one same effect.
Switched to RCA input the unit switches on when short tipped to the RCA plug with a screwdriver and stays on.
When signal is connected to RCA the unit shuts off aggain.
Sadly there is no service manual for the Beolab 1 with a schematic, so maybe there is one who can send me a picture of the schematic of the lower board with the powerlink sockets, as I guess the the erros is to find there.
Or has anyone had this kind of issue resolved?
Have a nice day.
Thanks for advice
Christian
The soloution was as simple as could be...
The poweramp seems to "look" for the connected speakers, if no speakers are connected the amp switches of after 1 second.
I swapped the amplifier module to another Beolab 1 speaker and the amp is working well.
Found a dead tweeter in the faulty speaker.
So next question is where or from whom I can get a tweeter for a Beolab 1 ?
All answers are welcome.
Thanks for advice.
Kind regards
I have no idea where you could get one but it would be a shame to loose these iconic speakers for the loss of 1 tweeter.
I´ve looked around, could not find any but there is a dealer who is selling only the diaphragma with voice coil, don´t know if it works but maybe I give it a try for about 72,- Euro ;-)
