Beosystem 10 - no power

Hi ;-)

Corona-cleaning at my parents led to the discovery of an old Beosystem 10 Stereo radio/cassette recorder  (power cord missing) along with a pile of tapes.

All excited, we found an alternative power cord, plugged it in, and... nothing! No lights, no sound, no nothing.

Does anybody have an idea, as to the nature of the problem?

I've searched the forums to no avail and not even Google want to be my friend on this 

I'm no expert at the finer electrical stuff, but I do own a multimeter - only I have no idea where to point it

Any thoughts on fixing this (if at all possible), will be most welcome
