Hi,

I bought some BL5s yesterday and encountered a problem. They are connected to a beosound Core with powerlink and coax (with spdif/coax transformer). The problem I have is that I only get sound from the first speaker in the chain (I’ve tried to change them around). I have tried 2-3 set of cables in all positions without luck. They are both in Option mode 0. Changing to option 1 does not help.

The Core is set up as described at beowise and changing the speakers left/right do not help.

Im a bit dissapointed so any help would be highly appreciated!

How do you interconnect both speakers at the moment? power link, SPDIF? I guess you need the same method between the speakers as you use to connect to the core.

I have seen this problem a couple of times. Most important is a good quality toslink to coax converter, I have good experience with the converter made by Oehlbach. Also good quality cables are important.

The grey plastic converter shown in the picture here is often bought as it is not expensive, but I have seen it give this problem.

The issue is discussed into more detail in this thread: https://archivedforum2.beoworld.org/forums/t/43412.aspx

Solved. I tried 3 diffent thick 8 pin powerlinks between the speakers, none of them worked. Found another one, problem solved.
