Hi

I plan to create wooden grills for my BeoLab 7 and BeoLab 4000 speakers.

What is the thickness of the BeoLab 18 slats ?

Regards

Will you use the original grills for attaching them or will you make some own fitting? I am interested in doing something similar.

Hi

I will 3D print custom fittings.

I can share the files with you when they are ready.

Hi,

The thickness of the slats goes from 3mm to 5mm (3mm closest to the speaker, and they get wider up to 5mm)

Awesome !!

I'm a new member here on the forum. I've just got a pair of beolab 4000 and I'm considering doing the same thing. I've got access to a 3d printer and a big workshop.

I work in construction and some archaeologists gave me some smoked Oak today. The wood is completely black but has beautiful nuances within the grain. The wood is about 8000 years old and if you're interested, i'd gladly gift you some, to contribute to your project. Let me know. We'll figure something out. I've got plenty for 4 speakers.

Can you post a picture of the 8000 year old wood?

The wood has been dug up from peatlands, west of a town called Horsens. More specific right here 55,8809647, 9,7524751. The archaeologist I spook have found 12000 years old reindeer remains and evidence of nomadic people roaming the lands at the time.

I'm getting it cut open Monday. Btw, the picture doesn't to it justice.

I'll post some more pictures after I've had it cut open.
