The problem of lid not opening automatically, but only manually instead was due to a worn gear; A co-member of our Dutch Beolover Club BEOFRIENDS"" could supply me with a new 3D printed gear(wheel).1) After taking the motor/gear mechanism apart a littlle plastic strip fell out: also see picture. I can not detect traces of a spot where this thing was situated.2) Stupidly enough I forgot to pay attention to where (see picture:) the loose wire (ground I assume) was attached to.3) In searching the internet I came across pictures of a CDX displaying the lid mechanism, where you can see two switches, whereas my machine has only one;
After completing the gear swiitch I did not dare to power up the CDX because of that loose wire.
Is there anyone around who could help me with these three problems.

Hi,
The plastic piece you show looks like the lever arm for one of the contacts and as I remember the CDX has two contacts, one in each side.
The grey wire as I recall it should be attached to the metal frame holding the servo board.

Hi,I'm not 100% sure, but it looks to me like the broken piece is from the push-rod that the "Eject" button is connected to. Follow the eject button towards the back of the machine, you'll see two spacers (keeping the CD tray lift mechanism seperate from the eject shaft), the front one is a fat brass spacer and NOT that one, it's directly above the second one (with the machine upside down).I've just repaired mine, I tried polystyrene glue, gorilla glue but niether worked well, instead I used Cyano which has lasted OK till now.Hope this helps.Tim
Part of this switch.

Hi guys,
You are very helpfull sofar,8
I have not been motivated for a while because of being contaminated ( although not heavily) with the Covid stuff.
Almost recovered from that I will try to follow up on your clues
The new gear had already been placed before the virus forced his way into my attention to the CDX problem.: the lid moves by hand and plays a cd.

Martin, just to make sure, is the switch you refer to the one near the gear or the one at the back as indicated by Tim
If I remember correctly, there are three switches in total of this type. You must be able to see which one is missing its actuator arm.
After my first and second vaccination and in between a positive covid test, although no symptoms of diease, I started to pick up the pieces of my simple quarantine life, such as staring to the inside of my CDX-2. I found the contact that Pindsen suggested all intact.
So far so good.
The second contact/switch should look like the one on the picture (given to me by Martin) Mind the yellowish kind of spring . This thing is missing in the switch near the "gearbox" in my machine : second picture.
Do I have to give up hope that there be able to recover this swich.
I can play CD's by means of manually opening the lid.
The CDX used to play well before the gear was damaged and replaced.
I put the swiitch in the same position as before , but did not find a metal spring
