Well, the trusty Beosystem 8000 is taking up so much space spread out on different tables I've decided it's time I housed it properly!

Consequently, does any one have a spare or unwanted System Cabinet SC80 or SC80-2 please?

Thanks!

Edit: Nearly forgot, I'm in Hampshire, UK.

Hi Adem so sorry I can't return the favour for sc80 but just like to thank you for ms150 stands.

By the way do you also have ms150 speakers.

Yes, I do have MS150s and love them dearly, although I do need to fix the rattling midrange on one of them!

Just to update everyone, I now have an SC80 and I'm very, very happy about this, as is my 8000 system, as it was somewhat scattered around the room until now!

One thing, though - it is missing the cover that goes behind the Beocord to give it a visual match with the Beomaster 8000's heatsink. If anyone happens to have a spare cover, please get in touch.

Hi,

It actually appeared on UK eBay  and was the second to appear in about three weeks. I am down in the south of England and the first was in Yorkshire and listed as 'collection only', so around a 400 mile round-trip to collect. Not good when your car does 15mpg!

The second appeared even further away in Scotland - nearly an 800 mile round trip and the seller again listed it as 'collection only' and it didn't sell. He listed it again and it still didn't sell so I sent him a message asking if there was any chance he would consider wrapping it so that I could send a courier for it. It turned out that, due to the lack of interest as "collection only" he had already investigated courier costs and they were cheaper than he had expected. Apparently, several people had asked about courier collection but my email was the most polite so he gave me first refusal!

The end result was it cost me £40, plus the courier cost of £45 and he did a superb job of wrapping it up (took me nearly half an hour to unpack it!), so I'm very happy.

Still searching for a cover to go behind the cassette deck, though...Wink

Hi Adam!

Well since a certain AS stopped writing for a certain magazine, not much - if anything - to read in defense of B&O Sad

Back to the dark ages...

As regards the cabinet, I've been looking for one too, but the sellers were always too greedy. I've declined several offers from about €300 to €600 so far.

Tim Jarman still writes - he has been told not to do the 8000 system so that the prices don't go up too much!!

Oh! I guess the Philips CD303 is going to fetch very high prices now...

That certain AS also now writes for the same magazine as Tim and we're doing all we can to keep the B&O flag flying! Beolab 5000 amplifier is coming soon...
