Hi everyone,

I just found my Beosund 2 in the cellar (after many years).

It powers up, the dock is flashing in itunes mode.

I even hears the three holy beeps .

So, now my question:

I only use Macs, have no CD Drive or software and of course Apple Music does not recognize the player.

Is there any way to use this anymore?

I tried copying a WMA test file to the empty SD Card and of course nothing plays.

Thanks in advance

Nick

Hi Nick,

You should absolutely be able to drag and drop music files from your Mac’s hard drive to an SD card. I use MP3 320kb/s fixed bit rate.

The SD card should be formatted as FAT32 and I think each album should be in its own folder. Check the manual, but I think the BS2 can only read to the depth of one folder.

There is also a max size limit on the SD card. Start off with a 1GB one.

Once you’ve copied the files to the SD card, put it back into the BS2 and allow some time for the BS2 to load the card content. The manual describes this.
