Dear all,

My BeoCenter 2300 seem to require some relubricating of its glass door slides (guides). I have found that the lower guides are easy to both clean and lubricate. Is there an easy way to do the same to the top guides also, although the sliding surface is not visible?

I just performed this manoueuvre on my Ouverture. Only a very small portion of the upper guides are visible but it actually seems like they are not really "used" the same way as the lower ones. I believe that with the doors attached, the weight is on the lower guides and the upper ones are not actually touching the plastic guides with any real force.

I cleaned the lower ones with a Q-tip and then sprayed some silicone lubricant spray on a new Q-tip and dragged it along  the slanted edge where the door holder rests and moved them manually back and forth a few times.

I found that some noise came from what must have been misaligned doors even though they looked like they were positioned correctly. I adjusted the door holders several times before they moved perfectly smooth without hitting eachother when reaching the closed position.

Can you describe in what way it does not feel smooth? Is there a noise during the entire movement or does it sound like it it hitting some dirt along the way?

Hej Martin,

Thanks for your help in solving this. I have posted a clip on the door movement, with the left door removed. As you can see (if the uploading of my movie clip was successful) the guides are still a little hesitant to move. I have cleaned the guides with isopropyl and degreased them using silicone grease (before recording the clip). I guess you are right, the weight of the doors ought to be on the lower guides.

Looking at your video, my first thought is that the belt is slipping. If you haven't already, take a look at beoparts-shop and get yourself a new belt.

A bit tricky to replace but with some help from the forums I managed to replace mine!
