We are pleased to announce that we have collaborated with Vertu the pioneer of luxury mobile phones on their latest product, VERTU Ti.

The collaboration between our two brands highlights a shared passion for contemporary design, exclusive materials, audio quality and dedication to authentic and outstanding user experiences.

Still, $10,000 for a mobile phone is absolutely ludicrous when you can spend the same amount of money for a nice set of B&O speakers or television. A mobile phone is not jewelry. It is an item that gets lost, dropped, banged up and replaced for obsolescence every couple of years. That being said, I wish I was in the position to be able to afford one.

BeoLab 5, BeoVision 7-55 MK2, BeoSound 5 Encore, BeoSound 9000, BeoLab Penta III, BeoLab 8000, BeoLab 6000, BeoLab 2, BeoLab 7-6, BeoSound 8, BeoTime (analog clock), Beo 4 remote.

Even if I could afford one I wouldn't buy it Ick!

OK - some may like the design... But it seems like some people like to buy big, ugly, expensive wristwatches - or rediculous expensive mobile phones, just to show they can afford it...Whistle

Vertu, the manufacturer of tarted up Nokias, with absolutely zero feature set to differentiate them from mundane phones other than whale foreskin cases???

LOL - B&O are losing their way.  I thought this new CEO was turning things around?

Why are you bashing against Vertu which is a luxury company like B&O, too?

Why do you buy a television that costs 10 times the price of any other realy good tv sets and complaining on the other side about a luxury phone maker?
That does not fit...

Vertu is not about the features (except the concierge service), it's about the whole quality of the handset. Perhaps you should inform yourself a bit before bashing against!

They tested the phones in a german TV show and during the test they laid down a Vertu phone on the concrete and drove over it with a car. After that they picked up the phone and continued the call without any sign of damage!

Believe me:
After you touched a Vertu phone every other phone on the planet will feel like cheap trash from! I visited a Vertu store in Cannes and I was simply stunned about the build quality!

It's just a phone, yes, and a B&O TV is just a TV... think about it.

I've seen them in person and remain underwhelmed.  If I wanted a phone to survive the apocalypse, I'd go for a milspec model.  Vertu handsets are this:

- well constructed

- antiquated interfaces

- bring nothing new to the table (you can get similar concierge services with AMEX Black)

I happen to find the current crop of B&O TVs underwhelming too.

If you want to spend your money on it, go ahead, I'm not stopping you Big Smile

Very well said.  People have different taste and desires about what they want to spend their money on. Many people, even people on this supposed B and O fan site, think paying B and O prices for B and O is ridiculous. A product's worth is determined by the purchaser and what it is worth to them.

There's no tangible worth to a Vertu phone.

B&O even mixing up with them is a shame. Ick!

If B&O supply them with components, then what is the issue?

This could/should provide B&O with an income stream - which is in everyone's interest.

I would never buy a 4x4 or an enormo-saloon car, but i don't object to B&O supplying speakers to Audi/BMW etc etc.

Those phones are bonkers, overpriced blingy nonsense, imo... but so is a Bentley/Aston Martin.

Laughing Well - now you mention it...
I like to think that people who buy B&O likes good design...But i must admit that I think, that at least a few of the items I have seen in those "Show us your..." threads, were not bought because of the design.,,Unsure
Wristwatches -almost half the size of the hand - overloaded with ornamentation... IMO it's in the category of Swiss Cuckoo Clocks.
Some people might actually like that...But I think that a few people buy them just because they're expensive.

And, now for something completely different...
-about the fact that a Vertu can be run over by a car...Ofcourse it's nice to have a phone that can cope with that.
(I have once dropped mine on a concrete floor without breaking it - that's good enough for me...)
But if i should ever run my phone over with my car, I can buy a new one (or 5-6 more) for the price of a Vertu Whistle

I have never driven my car over my phone. I always thought it was a silly thing to do.

I do swim with my Beolab 5's though.

I'm the proud owner of a Zippo that has been run over by a car, there are a few scratches on the Zippo, the car showed no damages.

Collecting Vintage B&O is not a hobby, its a lifestyle.

In this case what does collaborated actually mean?  What did B&O do that adds value to this phone.  B&O has worked with Samsung to make a cellphone but in that case B&0 provided some technology such as speakers and amplifiers.
