I have just bought a Mk1 beocom 6000 handset. I have plugged in the base and connected to phone line, but phone not charging. Indicator light on phone blank and base light red.
Any help my appreciated. I am assuming a new battery required?
Hi and welcome to Beoworld.
Yes definitely worth trying a new battery in the first instance.
I usually buy these ones from Amazon: https://smile.amazon.co.uk/dp/B002MPYM3W/?coliid=IFKBFFPX8CGP1&colid=3BIFMKN0M7ZWK&psc=1&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it
Thanks cleaned points and now charging. New issue is showing a busy line. Hopefully I can rectify and start using. Have plugged into spliter with modem. Got wifi so no issues with that. Din't suppose you have any suggestions
It could be that the lead from the splitter to the BT socket is the wrong type.
From memory you will need a 'crossover' lead like this one: https://smile.amazon.co.uk/Socket-Cable-Modem-Telephone-Straight/dp/B07WK8DHNZ/ref=sr_1_8?dchild=1&keywords=RJ11%2Bto%2BBT%2BModem%2Bcrossover&qid=1626555628&s=electronics&sr=1-8&th=1
I think that the 'straight through' RJ11 leads do not work.
Thanks. Wonder if I need to change the ASDL Splitter completely. I have read before about plugging the phone directly into mains just to check it isnt something up with the phone. Might repost a new thread
