Do any of you still use the Internet radio on a BS/BM5 and did anyone manage to get Bluetooth connected? Bought mine new a few years ago. I used it +- 3 years and after it broke (sound died, does not activate speakers) gave up on it. Now considering fixing it and maybe using it in the kitchen. However there is no use in fixing it if Internet radio is no good and no Bluetooth possible. Man did I pour lots of money down the drain. I rate it along with the BV Avant New Generation as one of the worst things that I have ever bought from B&O - and I have bought plenty ;-)…. If someone developed some hacks this old thing could turn into a classic, mark my words.

The BS/BM5 has never had support for bluetooth (except, if you connect a dongle via the Behringer USB interface).

There are still many, who use it - as far as I know the radio services are still working - and you can play the stored music respectively the music from a decent DLNA server on the homenetwork.

There are lots of threads here on the forum, that can tell you what is possible….and what is not.

As for the now missing support for Spotify, there is concensus, that this is not to blame B&O (but Spotify and a change in the API).

However this shows how vulnerable modern sw-based technology can be.

Happy reading - maybe you will learn enough to enjoy this (at that time) gorgeous piece of gear…even today.

Spot on MM.

I use the Chromecast audio as input for ie Spotify to the Behringer and it works fine.

And Radio works just fine for me Kører nu BS5.

MM - I have tried to search for a single that supports both Spotify (Connect) AND Bluetooth but I have not found one yet.

Do you know if such one exist?

Thanks you two for pointing me in the right direction. It seems that it would be a shame not to get it fixed and appropriately wired again. It is a real eye turner and I am sure that I will be able to find a good spot for it and the Beo 5 again. I will drop Steve Marriott a note once up and running again. Smile

Am I right when I suppose, that you mean ‘a single device’?

If yes…..how about this:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Bluetooth-S10-Multi-Room-TuneInRadio-Connection/dp/B084R8N8KD

https://bekent.dk/arylic-s10-tradlos-streamer-til-multirumslyd.html?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIuPmEpuf78QIVR--yCh2n-AevEAAYAyAAEgL6ZvD_BwE

I had one myself, but decited to return it, because I really had no use for it in my setup.

Works well - however, it has no dIrect AP2 support

Hi Rob,

I have a full B&O system, tv and music which includes the BS/BM5. I have always had hundreds of radio stations, possibly thousands. They all work perfectly but never use Bluetooth even if it is included. Obviously it’s all done via my WiFi.

Dont ask me how to set it up as I have no idea.

Its all overly complicated and I am not impressed.

Got everything up and running again, thanks for the tips. All good except for no sound from one of the BL8000. No blinking lights - probably something silly Smile. I forgot how cable intensive everything was a few years ago. Any ideas why my pc monitor a BeoCenter 6 in the same room switches on when I select NRadio on the beo4? BC-Screen stays black and green light comes on. I thought I had the roles figured. Forgot that it really is a pretty neat piece of gear. It’s something like a Land Rover Defender, simply crazy but you got to love it.
