Hi!

I had the DVE (video engine) changed last year on my BeoVision Avant 55 FG from 2014 (ordered the first week after release). The picture quality is stunning. But a new cloud has showed up on the sky. For some time now the sound is behaving strange.

I’ve got a general feeling the sound now is lower than before. It’s missing the “wow factor” and I must press up to a higher digit level when watching a movie than I remember. It just doesn’t sound like a BeoVision.

For most of the time the sound is behaving normal, but from time to time strange things do happens:

- It started with the speakers refusing to fold out, even if they produced sound as the should. But that never happens now, they fold out every time.

- The sound can go missing when switching channel. Mostly I just have to swap channel and back again to get the sound back. But sometimes I must power off and on the TV. Happens more often with regular TV (from satellite) than with streaming (Apple TV).

- The talk in a movie disappeared once, but the rest of the sound was there. We could hear the car, the traffic and the explosions but not the talk from the driver and the passenger.

- Sometimes nothing happens when we try to change the volume with the remote (BR 1). It’s like the buttons doesn’t work, but maybe it’s the TV who doesn’t react.

- I used the mute function in the app and the symbol in the app showed a muted speaker, but the sound didn’t mute. Tried again and now the TV was muted.

No speakers is connected, and the TV is not connected to my link system. So it’s a stand alone product. It’s updated with the latest software.

- Anyone else who experienced sound problems?

- Any clue or guess how the problem is fixed?

- Is there some sound settings to reset?

- Is there a “sound engine” that could be replaced, like the DVE?

- Is the cost for that in the same region as the DVE (almost 1500 €)?

I will of course call my technician to check it out, but it’s a 1,5 hours drive so it’s not so easy and quick to arrange.
