I would like to know the age of BeoLab 8000 based on it's serial number.

My questions:

  1. Is it correct that any serial number above 16xx is a Mark II?
  2. Did B&O stop the production of BeoLab 8000 MK I when they launched the BeoLab 8000 Mark II?
  3. Is there any list available where based on serial number, I can easily check what the corresponding production year was?

The changes are implemented form serial 16992475 onwards.

This information is provided by Beoworld's product range.

Another site that might be helpful is "Beocentral"- where they list "type " numbers.

regards

Noel.

I have had BeoLabs 8000 with serial 0xxx. They have coil connected to speakers and positioned right underneath the lower woofer driver. This is diffferent to most of the BeoLabs 8000 that I know as MK I (serial 1xxx and up).

Do you have a link to the info about MK 0 ?

I can’t remember where I red that post, but it was here at beoworld.

And I can’t find it either .

I remember reading something about 3-way and 2-way speakers and a bass upgrade.

But I ‘m not very sure as my memory is not always the best [:\'(]

The subject of the post was about finding the production year I think.Confused

Yes, they did. As the mk2 changes were an improvement, there would be no reason to still manufacture the previous version...

(BTW - I dont't think any manufacturer has ever continued with a mk1 model, after launching a mk2 model...but I could be wrong) Whistle

Another thing I noticed is that at some point ABL or Adaptive Base Lineralisation was implemented.

Is there any information available form which serial numbers onwards, this has been implemented on the BeoLab 8000?
Or is it simply from MK II onwards (serial 1699 2475)?
