I am moving to Europe in the next few months and debating selling or keeping my Beovision 11-55 and 11-46. Any thoughts on compatibility. I mainly use Apple TV, Netflix and occasionally YouTube TV cable service.

Worried about damage while shipping. Keeping them would be more affordable than buying a new TV. Also not really a fan of Eclipse and Horizon aesthetics. Beovision Contour seems viable though missing external speaker compatibility.

Thanks

As an American BeoManiac who recently did an expat assignment in Germany I highly recommend taking advantage of the second hand B&O oasis that exists in Europe. My recommendation would be to store your BV if you intend on moving back. Sell it if its a one-way trip. When I moved to Germany I stored all of my Beo gear although I did sell some odd ends that I had collected over the years. When I moved home I brought back a bunch of gear I had a hard time finding in the the Midwest.

Second life BeoVisions are plentiful in Europe and some dealers might even throw in a warranty.

I was living in Koeln and found both of these at my local B&O dealer (which was only a few blocks away). BV10-40 MK1 running a brand new ATV4K via PUC (this was in Feb 2018). In the bedroom I had a BV8-32 with an ATV4, also controlled with the PUC. I had my Beo4s running the entire house! It was glorious. I ended up adding two BL8ks to the living room system and then a ML'inked BS2300 to play CDs. Random lesson learned: your european flat will determine what BV you can physically get into the house! I had no lift whatsoever and no less than 98 steps up a spiral staircase to the 6th floor. Needless to say my dream of having a BV9 was no longer in the cards.

FWIW - I'm currently in SF. Wouldn't mind sending a BV11 "back home" when this business trip ends.

Shoot me a PM sometime Yes - thumbs up

Best,
Evan
