Today after visiting my local b&o shop and testing out the fab bl12s i read though the updated product price list and have noticed that the bs9000 isn't included in the list and is no longer on the b&o website.
They can't have discontinued it could they!?
Anyone with any info?
Bs9000 was discontinued some months ago.The last of them are being sold right now.
Regards Graham
Sad to see the ever decreasing number of audio systems from B&O. Soon there'll only be BS 5 and the "fruit-boxes" (apple docking-stations)

What a shame as it was in my opinion one of the best designs they ever made.
I hate the designs of the new audio systems and speakers, they have no b&o look to them now, bl6000s, 4000s and 8000s are still the best looking along with the new 12s.
Its a shame they are ditching the cd as its not the same me using airplay from my macbook than opening a cd case to put into the cd player.

Totally agree with you there, their new systems have no character or B&O style to them
For me the answer was simple with the 9000 - give it blu-ray/SD DVD functionality and you have one killer product - however the market is moving towards hard disk storage for media and B&O have obviously responded - the later 9000's will be supported for 5-10 years yet, when B&O recently tried to say the CD lasers for the MK1's were no longer available (with little warning) there has been an outcry to the extent that they have now been made available again. Long live the CD!

Although I still have a BS 3200 in my system setup, most of the listening is through BS 5. Probably the same would be true even if I had BS 9000.
Design alone cannot be a reason to keep a system, especially when the caravan of technological progress moves on to the next platform. This has happened many times in the past. I am sure that BS 5 and the browsing interface will be considered iconic in the future as well - however, it needs some further updates which the platform will allow.
BS5 has style and character - and it branches off into a new direction with already BS5 encore as a sibling.

Got to agree with you there, bs5 is nice but others aren't nice looking bs4 is ugly and likewise with the bc2. i love the interface of bs5 but there is nothing like putting a good old cd in the player.

exactly, all it needed was updating

Agree with the above, the BS is a timeless piece of art and with an updated version, with a hard disk, blu-rau and wireles it will sell for many years to come.
Collecting Vintage B&O is not a hobby, its a lifestyle.
My BeoSound 9000 MKIII was from 2001. When I heard here on the forum that it was being discontinued, I had mine checked & serviced and sold it to a friend. Then I just scraped the missing funds together and ordered one of the last new ones. I would'nt want to miss it for the world! it was my first B&O purchase ever (paid back the bank in 36 monthly payments). A true B&O icon has left the B&O homepage, let's just be grateful it has come into our lives!!!!

I'm afraid I'm recovering from the BeoVirus.
