Hello!

I’m quite new to this so I have a rather basic question. I just treated myself to a Beogram 1700 turntable and and a Beomaster 1000 (type 2316). The Beomaster 1000 has two gramophone inputs, and according to the manual input 1 is for "Crystal pick up or magnetic pick up with pre-amplifier", while input 2 is for "magnetic pick up without pre-amplifier". The pick up on the Beogram 1700 is an mmc-20s and I'm pretty sure it does not have a built-in preamp, which means it should connect to Gramphone 2, but I'd like to make sure before connecting it.

Could someone please confirm this for me?

Thank you!

Ari

I had a quick look at the manuals/service manuals and I agree.  There is no pre-amp in the BG1700 hence it should be connected to Gramophone socket 2.
