I am thinking of getting an encore but wanted to know if you can switch on the encore when you start an app on your phone to play music on the encore?

Also does airplay connect directly (ie control the music from the music app on iphone 5) or do I have to use a specific app that can connect to the Encore wifi?

Hello,

There is no app to control the Encore, it is not the same as the bs5.

You cannot use the Encore as a music renderer, like you can do with the bs5.

Hi sashaz,

If your main desire is to switch on the Encore when playing from your phone and/or AirPlay to it, you don't need the Encore - It won't display anything (but A.AUX) on its screen.

Take a look at the Playmaker in stead - it autosenses the source you are using (iAirPlay, DLNA....) - and you have full control via your "Phone or iDevice"

Hi sashaz,

If you want the Encore, you will need an AirPlay-device (Apple AirportExpress..) plugged in to the AUX.

And you will have to choose that port (on the Encore or with Beo4) before AirPlaying.
