Hi. I recently acquired a BeoCenter 2 and a pair of BeoLab 8000 active speakers from a relative who passed away. They came with no cables at all so I have now purchased all the required cables. I plugged it all in this evening but got absolutely no response from the BeoCenter. No lights turning on, no sound, etc. Any help would be much appreciated!

The setup is like this:

BeoCenter2 main unit is connected via the Master Unit cable to the BeoCenter2 socket unit.

The socket unit has got a mains power cable plugged into it, and it is connected to the two BeoLab 8000 speakers via a powerlink with splitter. The speakers are powered by mains power cables.

The little speaker lights turn on when I switch on the power, but the main unit does nothing at all.

What am I doing wrong? Am I missing something?

Anyone got any ideas? Or any contact details for someone who might be able to help?

Apologies if this is a silly question but have you checked the fuse in the mains plug?

Not a silly question at all! But yes, I tested the mains plug with other devices (including the Beolab speakers) and it seems to work fine for them.
