Hi all, I was given a Beovison 10 which has been in storage for a while, so I connected some lab 6000s, chromecast etc. etc. and then turned it all on. The tv stations play fine, but I don't have access to the Sound or Connections menu (they simply don't appear). I reset it a couple of times, but the initial setup does nothing beyond tuning the stations.

Is there a simple explanation for this? is the input board fried? and if so, can it be replaced?

I hope somebody can help, as it's very pretty, and an upgrade from the BV5 currently in the room ha

Beocentre 9500 & Beomaster 5000

Beovisions: Avant 32, 10-40

+ 'coms, 'links etc etc.

Where did you buy that BV10?

There are a lot of the former BV10 hotel tv’s on the second hand market…….maybe it is one of these.

Hmm, I suppose there is a slight possibility. I'll check in with the previous owner.

As the connection panel is (almost) all there (there isn't an ethernet connection, but I'm not sure if this was a universal fit), would it be theoretically possible to flash the tv with the consumer firmware?

It's a type 9553 by the way. I've just managed to get into the service menu, and only have three options: 'Edit URL', 'Servicemenu|network change', and 'Transfer Settings'...

That sounds strange.

You can not update anything without having the service tool, that only B&O technicians have.

That is….you might be able to update the DVB tuner, when fittet - but that won’t change much.

I am curious, what the previous owner has to say.

Ah that's fair enough. I'll see if there's somebody in Melbourne with the appropriate equipment to update it (the official B&O dealer here closed a few years back).

The file I exported (from the limited Service Menu) mentions the HDMI, SCART, and speaker connections, but I'm not sure what the settings numbers mean. I should be able to load an edited .db file to the BV... any chance the GUI/Functional restrictions are located in this file? [https://a.tmp.ninja/rTALNrOJ.db - this is the raw file].
