I recently got a Beocenter 7700 from Ebay. It's in good condition and generally I have no complaints. Except, when i try to play a record, the tone arm goes out to the disc, lowers down to meet it, then pops back up and swings back to its start position. I have tried adjusting the counterweight, but each adjustment i have made just makes the tone arm more erratic.
Any advice for this fiddly job would be appreciated. Am i missing something obvious?
