very cool, thanks for posting!
Very nice. Way, waaaay more square footage than in their narrow little Newbury Street shoppe! So, anybody here seen it in the flesh? In a perfect world, that album rack would be run off a camera, and image recognition would drive the Spotify/Deezer/Qobuz playback. But I bet it's actually RFID tags tossed inside the lower left corner of the albums and a simple database lookup of the RFID tag number, custom entered by-hand. Oliver does say it's a technology demo and not a product. Notice he never stands in front of the rack while placing albums, but likely that's just video production values, rather than avoiding hiding the cover from a camera. Besides, the beep is unnecessary, just play the music -- except beeping is the RFID card reader's default.
(P.S. Knowing Martin Nielsen's voice, it would surprise me to hear it in Boston even more than it did the host/interviewer! Gotta love his "hexagonial" Shape tiles. But you know, they don't come in "aluminium"... :-)
Brilliant!
I would really love to see B&O gain more traction in smart home control. It is obviously a challenging market with a ton of low-cost players, but an easy-to-use home-control system is something that should be very easy to sell.

* Yes, really! 🤦♂️
I think I see how that album player concept works. NFC tags could send a message when they're detected to Home Assistant, which could in turn forward this to BLI to act as a trigger to start playing a Deezer album via a BLI macro. However, I'm not sure if the tag reader integration in Home Assistant would send a resource that BLI can accept. BLI's accepted resources from Home Assistant are rather limited -- such as lights, shades, thermostats, and alarms.
It's all the BLI running the showroom. You can use the USB ports to connect external readers like a NFC reader which is embedded in the shelving that's seen. Each LP album has a chip to be read inside of the album which then triggers the BLI to pull up the coordinated album via Deezer embedded in the Shape's Core. The showroom is very purposely built around actual products and real life implementations in today's world.
Ah, you know... A little B&O here, a little there

So Home Assistant is not involved at all? Which system driver does the BLI use, then, for the trigger?
It's being done with a custom driver used for this experience in combination with Global Cache pieces.

I would be interested in more details and the driver. My dog just died this week. I need a project to keep my mind off of it.
Sorry to hear that. I would reach out to Khimo as they were an integral part of implementing everything done in the presentation. They would be the ones would could release the project for your use.
Ah Jeff, very truly sorry to hear.
Hope you had some wonderful years / times with your dog.
Take it easy.

Thank you. She was a 15 year old greyhound that I rescued 11 years ago. For a greyhound to live to be that old is very rare. It's times like this that the BLI is nice for projects to keep my mind occupied. I suspect that many of us turn to our B&O enthusiasm during difficult times. It's nice to make things work. Didn't Anakin Skywalker say that on Tatooine?

Seanie_230:That video deserves a thumbs up from me. What a great demo store.
Jeff, sorry for your loss!
