I have had this Beolab 2 subwoofer from new 2002. It has always worked perfectly. It was unused for about a year, disconnected as the house was refurbished/rewired etc.. It is now connected to a BLcore. The BL2 feeds two BL8000s. All works fine, but BL2 has this background noise, unrelated to volume level that sounds like a a rainforest canopy. It is not loud, but audible when you know it is there.

I checked all connection, making sure clean contact so no creep current or loose connections. The BL8000 sounds is perfect so signal passthrough works, just the BL2 itself has this sound. It drives me nuts. Try listening to Chopin playing in the amazon forest. Its fine for chill out music/almost a nice add-on ;-)

Anyone know what this is, am I the only one with this feature?

I have a second BLcore that feeds two BL1s, and the same there when I connect he BL2. So it is not the Core or wiring, seems specific BL2. BL2 sound otherwise perfect.
