Hi all

I am new to the B&O world and trying to connect up some old kit and seeking help!

I inherited a pair of Beolab 8000 active speakers.  I don't have any other B&O kit so to try to connect them to my TV I bought a Cambridge Audio Azure 540r receiver - as it has the pre-out the speakers need.

So on the speakers, I set the switches to the line setting, attached the composite leads and connected the speaker to the received on the corresponding pre-out socket.

I connected the TV and receiver by the optical inputs.

However, I don't get any sound or signal.  I know the speakers work as when I switch the the FM output, the speakers come on (light goes green) and I get static hiss in both.

The TV (Panasonic TX-49EX580B) only has HDMI, optical and headphone outs.

If  I can get the speakers working I was going to use my Q Accoustics M4 in conjunction with the Beolabs, hence not using the headphone jack.

So the upshot of all of this, does anyone happen to know where I might be going wrong with the setup?

TL/DR - Tv connected by optical to Azure 540R, Beolabs 8000 connected to received by components via pre-out L & R - no sound.

Thanks in advance

Ian

Update on this - I have managed to get the speakers working and sounding great.

I cannot get the Q Accoustic Soundbar to to anything from the FL/FR slots though.  Will keep plugging away.
