Turntable connection issues

Good Evening;

I am new to the forum and FAR FROM an audiophile so forgive my "elementary" explanations of my problem, but I hope someone can assist.

I have a Beosound 3000 which is connected to Beolab 4000 powered speakers. I am ATTEMPTING to connect a turntable with a built in pre-amp, and regardless of whether I use the Line Connection or bypass the pre amp, I am getting NO SOUND when connected to the AUX of my receiver. Suggestions?
