Hi all. Looking to poll the audience of harmony owners out there. From day one out of the box, my harmony speakers have a misalignment and I was told that this is normal but for a $20,000 TV, this seems unacceptable. Specifically, my problem is that when the tv is fully open and upright, the speaker covers flare out at the end. If you measure the distance from the speaker cover to the tv panel (in the middle of the tv) vs out at the edge of the speaker covers, it’s nearly double. This ends up giving the two speaker covers a toed in appearance and not a nice flat surface paralleling the tv panel. Can someone please shed light on this? Has anyone else noticed this? I’ve gone through all the panel adjustments as well as I believe all of the internal BO videos to adjust the speaker boxes if they are warped or curved and nothing has been able to correct this. It’s almost as if it’s intended or part of the movement bc the tv and speakers will open fully but right at the end of the mechanized movement as they are perfectly aligned, then they motor just a bit more and it kicks the ends out and then leaves a subtle “v” shape when looking at the tv from the side. I hope this makes sense and possibly Someone can confirm this is normal or not. Thanks!

Mikipidia:Yeah, that’s not normal.
you are sure the covers are appropriate installed ?
Just to be 100% mikipidia, you’re saying that on your harmony, if you were to lay a level across the front of the speaker grills, from left to right, they would be perfectly flat and parallel to the tv panel? Just want to make sure I’m describing my issue correctly. Best way to describe my issue would be as if someone came up to the tv and kicked the middle of the speaker covers and now the middle of the speakers (where the white light is) is closer to the tv than the ends. If you were standing over the tv and looking down with a birds eye view, the tv panel would obviously look like a straight flat line but the speakers grills look more like a V, with the out edges (left and right) further away from the tv than the middle edges. The two surfaces would not be parallel.
I wish I could take a pic to show you but yes. I’ve uninstalled them multiple times and I cannot see how they would be installed incorrectly. But I’m open to any and all ideas

ok, so you had the same issue and they were able to correct it through simple adjustments to the unit? I know there are a few allen key adjustments that i have been instructed to try but those do nothing but move the screen forward, backward, up, and down. To me, if they were to come out and simply adjust them back to straight, that should be something easy enough to tell me to do over the phone and so far my dealer hasnt' mentioned anything like this. All of the known adjustments (to me) are simple fore aft up down type adjustments. To fix this issue you have to adjust the camber of the speaker grills, but this harmony was shipped from BO to my house, no dealer in the middle, so maybe it missed an adjustment step. Thank you all for the replies, i thought i was going to be out in the weeds on this one. Glad to know its a known issue and not normal.

thanks for the link. ive watched that one and those are the only adjustments i know of. ive done all of those but if you watch what is moving while you are adjusting the screw, its the tv panel that moves forward and backward, up and down, and the fore aft adjustments seem to be for the upper half of the tv and the lower half of the tv. While watching the speaker covers, these do not appear to move. In order to solve my issue it would seem that each speaker would have an adjustment to change the angle of the speakers and covers. Ideally, an adjustment that changes the toe in angle of the two speakers. For me, i would like them perfectly aligned, not toed in. So, if some other adjustment exists, it will have to be done by the dealer/repairer bc i am unaware of any other adjustments. If you take off the lower back panel, maybe there is something there bc to me it looks like there needs to be an adjustment of the upper arm that the speaker pivots on. If you push this arm outwards, toward the listener, it would then push the middle out and pull the ends of the speaker back. Think pushing your chest out while pulling your shoulders back. Im thinking this must be an adjustment issue bc it would be highly unlikely that if something was bent due to shipping, etc, that it would be perfectly bent on the left speaker and the right speaker. If anyone knows of other adjustments, please let me know. Im going to reach out to the dealer to see what they have to say. This should be covered under warranty, correct?

Well, I have have no idea how to post a pic here but I was able to post one to the media forum. You can see it there and notice how the speakers are angled. Thanks all for the help
Thanks! I’ll have to check again but on mine, when I remove those plastic tabs, there is a 3mm Allen bolt no more that a few mm in. Definitely not 4cm. So maybe I’m missing that one. I’ll have to crawl back there and look again. Appreciate the help!
I don’t know. Maybe ours are constructed differently. When I pop off the cap, there is an obvious Allen bolt, 3mm, right there. Hardy a few mm in. The only way to go deeper is to angle the Allen key to go around the head of said bolt but then you’re going in with a slight angle. Anyways. I’m just gonna have BO come fix it. Hard to say it’s installation error when you pull the cardboard top off and voila, it’s set up. Hopefully they won’t play that card
