by accident I found this video on YouTube.
this guy uses different woofers on his speakers:

He seems to use Fenton 8 Ohm speakers.

That guy seems to know very little about speakers.Yes, of course they sound better than before. Woofers with their surround missing plays nothing - and at least heavily distorted.
If I remember correctly, the original woofers are 6 ohms impedance, so the balance between the tweeter/midrange and woofers will be off.
But why use inferior drivers like that?You cannot even look up their T/S parameters. I bet the Vas would be quite high.
Generally, finding modern replacement woofers for what B&O originally used is often impossible, and it's typically (but not only) because they require a much larger cabinet volume. Something the RLs just doesn't have.Having the original woofers refoam'ed would've be a far better solution in my opinion. They are excellent drivers.
The next owner will wonder if this junk is really what B&O made.
