I have just replaced the foam woofer surrounds on my Beovox CX100. This was an audible improvement. I also bought some bi-polar, axial electrolytic capacitors for the crossover, if this could improve the sound quality further. However, I do do not have experience with this. The original capacitor is ROE 6.8 uF, 63V. The replacement is Jantzen Audio 6.8 uF 100V, as the dealer did not have 63V. The capacitor is soldered onto the crossover at three points joined with the wires for woofers/tweeter and the coil. Are the wire and coil ends held in place by some grommets under the solder, so it will not fall apart when desoldering the capacitor?
