My 14-year-old BeoVision 4-65 (used as my bedroom TV with a BeoSystem 3 and BeoLab 14) has started developing picture problems in the last few days.

Sometimes green horizontal lines will appear across the screen before the whole thing dissolves into a mass of green and purple static, then the picture disappears altogether. Sometimes the picture just disappears to black instantly. Switching it off and back on again solves the problem, as does switching source (to DVD and then back to TV). The sound remains constant even when the picture is flickering or absent.

The problem could be with the screen, BeoSystem 3 or the cabling, though I suspect the former; it's clearly not the Sky+ box as this also feeds my sitting room TV (a BV4-103) which has not experienced the same problems.

Does anyone know which specific part is failing or will I need to replace the screen altogether?

Hi,

Can you connect the Sky box to another HDMI input of the BS3? With a different known working HDMI cable.

How does the Sky box feed the other BS3/4 used with your BV4-103?

Any splitter in between?

If yes, swop output of the splitter.

Thanks, Ravsted. As far as I'm aware, it feeds both BeoSystem 3s and both screens via HDMI. My dealer and I will definitely look into the splitters when he comes round.
