Item number: 111015634124

Look at the drivel in the description, and even worse the end price.  I was talking about this with another Australian Beoworld member and we were both in disbelief!  Paid 4k for it.  He paid 4k for another old unit last week off a friend, going to UAE not Japan this time.  People are dumb!!  Unbelievable.  Crying

I would say one of the persons bidding may be familiar with the seller.  The last stereo sold went for ridiculous money for junk.  the advert was just all B/S!!

Maybe I should sell some of my junk on the Aussie eBay.  I have a couple Beocords I wouldnt mind unloading. I could make a killing.

What did they do to the turntable platter ?

One of the problems with eBay since they hid everyone's identities from everyone but the seller is that it's now too easy for an associate of the seller to push the bids up. eBay could probably check for bidders repeatedly bidding on one seller's items, but would they do anything about it? I doubt it.

I see/suspect the same shills here in the US. Often you will see the item sell high and then be relisted again later with similar bidding wars.

This information is available to anyone simply by clicking on the bidder's userid.  For example, the second highest bidder (who would most likely be the shill) has placed 12% of his total past 30-day bids with this particular seller:

iPad can't cope with that table....... I would have to delete it cell by cell to shorten the quote!

Do those tables just show the last 10 days out of the 30 stated, and exclude the current item bidding? (I'll do my own digging around to try to fully understand what they are showing.)

I would still prefer to be able to identify a bidder and click on their feedback to see their precise bid history.

Both upper and lower tables are labelled 30 days activity.  The just-completed auction is included.  The bottom table doesn't count automatic (i.e. 'proxy') bids, which is why the bid total doesn't match what's stated on top.  But I don't know why the number of items bid on doesn't match the top (77).  Perhaps the bottom table isn't a complete record for confidentiality reasons(?)

Also a bit expencive, I think

There is in description one funny thing I have noticed, all of these older equipment seem to be "High-End" stuff.

 blah-blah and photographs as needed

People get away with it in Australia. the high prices that is..

I went to an estate auction, that had some B&O gear. Beocom corded phones, and x2 Beosound 1 units, one with remote, one without. The Beosound 1 with remote sold for AU$900 and the one without around $700 i think. Well above asking prices on Ebay/Gumtree. Oh the Beocom phone sold for around AU$180

Oh those prices also had a 23% buyers premium on top of them

Once, Twice, Three times a laydeeeeeee-ah

I reckon Dentists could use that red font for their business cards - would make people more comfortable.

Drivel agreed.  Now, why would anyone buy that when you can buy new / more up to date stuff.

This auction is dead as a dead dingos donga!

I sent the following message to him:

Dear nightshot21,

Is this the one you bought in January? and the Master control panel a week ago? Just your ad says you've had it for years!

...and this was his rsponse!

What the f__k is got This to do With you? Are you hacking my Account or what? I Believe i live With myself and me better than you or anyone know what i have and for how long, if you didnt read im a b&o lover which means i have plenty b&o stuff so if im selling This one means that i have a better one Now. Hope i answer your question

Paranoid??? I respnded with this:

I ask because the feedback you left for the one in January says it is damaged, so I want to know what I'm bidding on! Do you speak to all of your potential bidders this way???

He responded:

I have 3 moré stereos that look the same to This one, i dont like been questioned like if you were in my case, and if i bought a panel control was because i needed to get the batterys lid what was missing on mine and the other stereo in january is literally Smash Like worth nothing, bought it just to get the stylus out. What i sell is genuine and means i have played With them for a while before i sell them. Now i have a beosystem 7000 and This ones not longer needed. Sorry if i got the shits on you just in a very bad Moon today.

Strange!?! So I guess there's more to come!
