I just started working on a new (old) set of BeoLab 8000, serial nr 1177xxxx.
Taking out the PSU/AMP block, and turning it upside down, I found an added capacitor, soldered to the bottom of the AMP-PCB.

It's values are: 25V, 4.7 uF, 85c

Questions:

  1. Does anyone recognize this modification?
  2. What could be the reason & function of this added capacitor?
