Hi, I'm a longtime B&O fan and customer, bought my first jewel brand new back in 1991 (BS2500) is still in use, at least it's speakers. I'm also a long time forum reader but this is my first post.
Now to my question: I'm currently using a BV11-46 in a 5.1 (BL2 and 4xBL3) surround setup in my TV-room and now have the chance to get a near mint BV12-65 for less than 2k€. I'm mainly watching 1080 max. and even worse old stuff, enjoy some occasional streaming and football (my sons, mostly), stopped watching TV-broadcasting many years ago. Now I'm wondering what you guys would suggest going for: The 12-65, a slightly more expensive LCD Avant 55 or keeping the 11-46 until prices drop further for used OLED gear? Can't afford a new one, except the Contour which lacks compatibility with my existing setup. Thanks for your advice!
Hi and welcome as a forum poster.
Honestly, from your post I understand that you really do not need tochange to another BV.
However, if you are in for something ‘new’/bigger, you can hardly go wrong with either of the mentioned alternatives.
You must consider that both are old devices - with the risks that old gear may bring.
Why not keep the 11-46 and put the spared money aside….for the future, when you will have to get another tv!

Hi guys,
Thanks for the welcome and the quick reply. Ralf, I forgot mentioning that I first was interested in the BS4 only, but it was only sold as a package, of course! Will the BS4 work with an OLED 4k display?Millemissen: You're right, but as mentioned above, I was initially interested in the BS4. However, the BS12-65 is a monster but I like it's design, The question here is: Will it be a step back compared with the 11-46!cc

Keep the 11 46 or take a bv 755 mk2, 12 65 too old stuff.

Ralf, I guess I'm really outdated: Full Array LED? I thought there was only OLED left nowadays. Checked your signature, so you have no B&O or 1080 HD screen anymore. What's the BS4's job then? Audio and PUC control only? What about 4K settop box or ATV video signals coming to the screens through the BS4?
Thanks for the Avant advice!
If your BV11 has nothing wrong with it, i would keep it until it dies
Then, after that, i would pick the Eclipse over the Avant and BV12
I meant old tech, full led 755 mk2 vs plasma, not the same league for the picture quality
the difference is that the tech inside the 65 was older whereas the one inside the mk2 was new.
the difference is that the tech inside the 65 was older whereas the one inside the mk2 was new. 2010 it was mk1 not mk2
That's the biggest issue with B&O products: Do they ever die? My 1997 MX4000 didn't, finally had to replace it because of new cable TV standards (still watched TV back then), replaced with a used BC 6-26 (because my wife didn't want it bigger than the MX), which is still running and our series-watching unit.

I used to own a BV12-65. Loved it, raved about it. Also, of course, you can connect external B&O speakers.
But, frankly, my LG G1 panel leaves the old 65" standing. 4K on a 65" panel is recommended, particularly for sport. Love it. Wouldn't go back now. For me, G1 + Stage is ideal, although I'd love a 'NG' Stage which would allow for the connection of external speakers for an audio upgrade.
Moxxey, I've read your hymns on the 12-65, that's why I first sent you a PM, but you didn't answer, so I copied it into the forum :-)Will the NG stage also work with my audio setup, I don't think so. As I'm watching nearly everything on my ATV and also have a STB, a PS5 and a Switch hooked to my TV, I guess I'd better try to get a BS4 without BV-12-65 somehow and wait for a more budget friendly used Eclipse. A BV remains a BV, something different! I like the idea of having a BS4 because that'd mean having less cables running to the TV, it has a pretty nice audio engine. I have neither 4k stuff in my video collection nor does our STB deliver that format yet. Last but not least I'd have to admit that I'm using Hue Sync, love that gadget. The BS4 would allow me to use it with all my image-feeding gear, now it's just synced with the ATV.cc
