I have recently connected the 2010 apple tv to my B&O vision7 TV via the HDMI connection. However this does not enable me to play pictures my Master Link system. My question is.

1    If i connect the apple tv using a HDMI to VGA connector and connect it to my vision7 would i then get pictures and sound through the master link system.

2   Can i control my apple tv with my beo5 remote control.

hello,

masterlink itself will only ever distribute sound. to distribute video you need an additional coax cable. you also need to provide an sd input to your bv7 as it will not distribute or downscale hd video.

i do exactly this with my bv7. i use a hdmi splitter and then a downscaler to get a dual hd/sd video input. however, my downscaler will not remix multi-channel audio. so i am forced to use only 2 channel stereo sound.

what are you attempting to do ?

Hi Scott

I have a sky decoder attached to my main bv7. This is linked to two other b&o televisions which I control with separate b&o4 remotes all are connected via the b&o master link system.

What I want to do is run and control my Apple TV in the same way.

hello,

this is totally possible the bv7 will distribute whatever it receives. if you want a hd signal for your bv7 you need a double-entry of the signal. the hd will be used for the bv7 and the sd will be distributed.

i personally do not do this as i use my mac to watch hd films with 5.1 audio. and this would be lost because downscaling can not manage it.

And something like this :

I use a PUC I/R repeater and my Beo4 ... Just define the AV port's PUC as being an Apple Remote

BeoNut since '75
