Had a letter from Gordon Harker of B&O Swindon announcing the closure of the store on 20th April. Apparently the store opened in 2004 and Gordon took over the business himself in 2008.
There is a closing down sale commencing yesterday. I can't see anything on their website, so the sale may be for callers only.
I'd like to wish Gordon and his colleagues all the best for the future: he gave me a great deal on a demonstration BC2 some time ago.

That's sad indeed and I echo Vikinger's wishes. Also leaves a big hole in southern central England - guess Newbury, Oxford and Bristol are now the closest. Not that I'd personally spend any time or money with the latter!
I'm from Swindon and used to run a shop in Old Town myself, but Swindon is not the correct town for a B&O store.
Although it has a decent population of fairly wealthy folk, Cirencester down the road although relatively small, is far more upmarket and wealthy and it's shops reflect that. Its proximity to the Cheltenham shop is about the same as the Bath shop is to the Bristol shop, so that shouldn't be an issue.
Hope it all works out for the folks anyway. Maybe they could move to Dubai and set up the shop it deserves!

As I'm currently based in Bath, I know the Swindon store fairly well. Always thought they were good guys, genuine. Gordon and 9Lee are good friends, too. Shame the branch is closing.
As for the market, yes there are quite a few dealerships down here - Cardiff, Cheltenham, Bristol and Bath serve an overlapping area.
There is a list of everything on sale but you have to contact the store for it and it will be emailed out to you.
Anyone notice the Swindon store managed to register the "bangandolufsen" username for their Facebook page?

Amazing how they pulled that off. Must have got in there first.
