This is my first message in this forum. I have a Beoplay V1-40 wich was delivered end of October 2012. Since a week I have connected the Beoplay V1 to the internet via cable. DLNA media browser works fine. Since I read the news on a software update 1.0.2.29380, I tried to install this new version.

When I am on the service menu for software upgrade, it finds the new version with release date 17 Jan 2013. It says the upgrade can take up to 15 minutes and asks to press the green button in order to start the update.

When doing so, nothing happens - or to be more clear: Nothing is visible on the TVs screen. On the routers switch I can see that there is traffic on a very low level (only 0.5% to 1% of bandwith used) on the port where the Beoplay V1 is connected. After about 3 or 4 hours, the TV resets without having loaded the new software. Maybe this could be the default shutdown timer?

I also tried to download the software to a USB stick and put the two files into root. It finds the software from the USB stick, same message asking to press the green button on the remote and also same result: There is no reaction, no change in display on the screen. However, remote control commands are not executed anymore once the green button has been pressed in the update menu (same as with direct internet download).

Some V1 documentations say that the TVs LED starts to flash once the update is in progress. I haven't seen this on my Beoplay.

my Setup:

- Current Beoplay-V1 software level shown as 0.0.0.0. (same before and after the upgrade trials)
- Beoplay-V1 is connected trough ethernet cable (100 Mbit) to a Gbit-Switch
- Internet Download bandwith 2 Mbit

Anyone can help me?

Hi, welcome to BeoWorld.

Have you set the TV to complete automatic software updates. This is option is in the service menu. We always suggest that auto update is switched on and set for early in the morning. Maybe it will work if left to do the update automatically.

If it doesn't work you need to address this to the store who sold you the set.

Dear Opman,

The manual start of the update did not work. Pressing the green key does not do anything. However the automatic update worked after the 3rd attempt. Thank you very much.
