does anybody know if this model will function on its own or does it need plugging into beocenter?I can get the turn function to work but nothing else.Previous owner swears it worked with his beocenter. Thanks in advance for any answers.

It does not need to be plugged in to work, but you will need to put a record on it, the 3404 checks mechanical if a record is present.

Collecting Vintage B&O is not a hobby, its a lifestyle.

I believe it was a US only model designed to work with the Beomaster 2400. It filled the same role as the 2402/2404 did in the EU. The extra pins should unscrew and the deck works as all other Beograms.
