Millemissen:

@Peter: no, I did not remove the limiter.

Mostly I use the small headphoneamp E1 from Fiio.

Firstly it pulls the sound ut of the line-ot of theiDevice (through the dockconnector).

Secondly it gives me more power to the headphones I use.

I recommend the Fiio E1. Although it gives you more cable to deal with, it improves the sound in an easy way, and it draws only minimal power direct from the iDevice.

Greetings Millemissen

Looks interesting! I've just ordered one and will compare to my other headphone amplifier!

Here is another headphone amplifier with an amusing name that is actually highly regarded.

I think there are probably more headphones available now than in the past.  Here is another from the French loudspeaker company.  They look vaguely familiar.

The Schiit amps review very, very well.

Everybody and their brother is trying to compete for a slice of the headphone market. Every loudspeaker company of note, and many unknowns, as well as the traditional headphone companies. It's like the rush when in wall speakers first started getting popular, suddenly every speaker company felt compelled to try and grab that market, so almost everyone had some kind of in wall.

I'm afraid I'm recovering from the BeoVirus. Sad

You probably won't need a headphoneamp like the 'Schiit-one' for in house listening with your B&O. My recommandation of the Fiio E1 was meant for mobile use of the H6 with an iDevice. Greetings Millemissen

H3 review by What HiFi here: http://www.whathifi.com/review/play-h3

4 out of 5 stars.

For:
- Detailed and open sound
- Well balanced across the frequency range
- Easy to listen to over long periods

Against:
- Tauter bass wouldn’t go amiss

I'm looking forward to trying these and the only tough question is what colour to get. Ironically the thing I wanted to improve most of all over my A8's, was the bass!

I know which two headphones won't be grabbing any awards now.Haha...

But seriously I have a seen a couple of better built variations of H6 around on designboom. And how is the H3 distinctive design wise from a generic Sony model?

I like that B&O are finally making new headphones but these?! I hope they are high-end cos the competition in the lower-end spectrum is huge!

Anybody has a clue on the prices?

Would you get the H6 or Vk-1 from http://www.aedle.net ? They look almost the same aesthetically but one is obviously better in terms of build and quality. You be the judge.

I have just tried the H6 headphones in black and they are very nice indeed. I'm no expert on this to be honest, and as i cannot see me needing such a headphone all i can say is that they are very comfortable and sound very pleasant. I'm too old now to wear these about walking etc and wouldn't need such a thing at home.

I wouldn't personally use them travelling on a plane or train for the obvious aforementioned reasons of not having ANR. Without your music on you can have a conversation perfectly well with somebody even in a loud room so poor is the passive noise attenuation. But then again it would be.

The H3's were the item i was most looking forward to as i'm doing a lot of walking at the moment. As a big B&O fan who does admittedly spend money because of brand loyalty, i can honestly tell you that my free Apple earphones are better. The A8's which i have are better in every way, even bass!!!! Something the A8 was hardly a master of let's be honest. I spent a good few minutes making sure the seal was good and they were positioned correctly.

Oddly I found the original A8's to be much better for bass. Not sure if they changed manufacturing (either components or location), but recent a8's definitely lack bass.

Shame about the H3's. At £200 you'd expect a huge improvement over the free Apple in-ear headphones.

I have spoken to two other people who have tried the H3, and both of them came to my conclusion that they were very weak on bass. Flat almost. Shame.

T3 Review of H6

"The B&O BeoPlay H6 is one of the best-looking pairs of headphones we've seen, and thankfully they sound as good as they look."

Also comments that use of plastic unfortunate. Compare them to the Philips Fidelio X1, which are cheaper, or indeed many of the competitors, and they seem rather pricey. I do like the look of the H6 but headphones are all about sound and comfort. I will have to compare them to my HD600s and RS-1s, When they are available!!

True enough, I was just trying to be positive!!Big Smile

I must confess that after reading it I went off and read reviews of the Philips which seem to get rave reviews for almost half the price, and as you say, the H6's are more expensive than the landmark HD600's, a very hard act to follow.

I await your review with interest.

I visited a dealer in Berlin yesterday, he confirmed that the product launch had been postponed to september for both H3 and H6..Angry

Hopefully to adjust the lack of bass on the H3 and the upmarket price on the H6?Stick out tongue

I wonder who's in charge of B&O marketing, because having the products on the BeoPlay website on 10 th May, giving the tariffs and then telling you "delivery unknown" is quite pathetic.

Maybe they're too busy preparing the launch of BeoLab 14, which no one in Struer advertised about? Is that the new policy? Announcing new headphones 9 months in advance, and launching another non advertised product before that?

My dealer claimed yesterday there was only a two week delay - end of May - on the H3/H6, so where August or September comes from is anyone's guess.

Not a guess. The headphones are only available in Denmark and UK. Other countries have to wait till end of summer.

Just listened to the following on the H6;

http://www.amazon.com/Handel-Water-Music-Royal-Fireworks/dp/B000001GG0

The reproduction was superb, with a very open spacious sound and very enjoyable.

Tried then playing more Rock and Pop and I must admit that the sound may lack some depth and punch for some tastes who prefer bass performance over every thing else.

Very comfortable indeed.

... and summer has begun in Germany. I just bought 50% of my dealer's stock of the H6. The rest are one piece for display.

I listened on my iPod touch at 85% of volume level. 100% are a little bit too loud. First fazit: Sits well, sounds good, looks fine.
