Past winter, in some of the Wednesday threds I happened to mention that I don't own any Frank Zappa records, even though I've liked most of the little I've heard. A while ago, Rich was about to send some speaker fabric to another member in Finland, and amazingly, remembered my brief mention and offered to help me out.
Nowadays, we can all just go to Spotify or YouTube or pieTunes or whatever and simply download music or stream it on the fly, all in the darkness of your mancave. But what's the fun in that? Back in the '80s you would borrow albums or copy them to friends on cassette. And that's exactly what Rich offered to do. We agreed that a physical tape would be the most fun medium.
A while ago, I found this padded envelope the mail man had dropped in (kindly forwarded by Orava). Inside, there was not one, not two, but THREE Maxell XLII cassettes full of Zappa!
On the nice escorting letter, a particularly noteworthy thing was the two most useful forum smileys making their premiere in a handwritten form:
The tapes contain Joe's Garage Act I, II and III and Sheik Yerbouti. These should educate me quite a bit further.
I still haven't had time to listen to the tapes fully in their recommended sequence, but I have verified them to play extremely nicely both on my main system:
...as well as the bedroom setup:
Awesome! Soon, I'll get me something suitable to drink, turn off all annoyances and enjoy the tapes in one sitting.
Thank you Rich, this was very much appreciated - expect a return favour some day, once I figure out what local oddities you need to hear!

You're welcome. And to quote Zappa:
Don't you be tarot-fied, it's just a token of my extreme!

Enjoy, and Rich, compliments, Steely eyed and so on.
Collecting Vintage B&O is not a hobby, its a lifestyle.
Nice one Rich.
Did I mention my interest in Jennifer Aniston? If you can't muster the real one a copy will do
Edit: Ooh lost my stars, forgot about that. Must do.
If you think nobody cares, try missing a couple of payments.
